Malaysian princess slashed to death by son


Tengku Puteri Kamariah Sultan Abu Bakar, 64, younger sister of the Sultan of Pahang, was killed by her son Tunku Rizal Shahzan who slashed her with a hunting knife at their home here yesterday. Her husband Tunku Ismail Tunku Sulaiman, 74, suffered slash wounds on the abdomen. The 21-year-old youth, who was believed to have been under the inß uence of the psychotropic substance, syabu, later died from an apparent overdose at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan hospital. The drama unfolded about 1.20pm when Tunku Rizal jumped out of a room on the first floor of the double-storey bungalow onto an awning before falling into a neighbour’s compound. The neighbour, Tengku Ahmad Faizal Abdul Jalil, 40, said the young royal was in a deranged state and started pacing in front of his house. "He was saying that he was scared of something," said Ahmad Faizal, who is also Tengku Puteri Kamariah’s cousin. Ahmad Faizal who was resting under a tree in front of the house with two friends did not intervene.
