AN armed raider got the shock of his life when gran Winifred Whelan pointed a blade at him and declared: That's not a knife...THIS is a knife. The brave 80-year-old jumped into action after she woke up to find a hoodie burglar brandishing a 10-inch weapon and demanding money and jewellery. Frail Winifred raced downstairs and grabbed a 14-inch kitchen knife then confronted the raider, one of two, with the words famously uttered by Crocodile Dundee in the Hollywood movie starring Paul Hogan. She said: "One was threatening my son so I ran into the kitchen and grabbed a carving knife. I pointed mine to his belly and said 'You call that a knife? This is a knife.' I was so angry." Husband John, 82, said: "I was stunned, she weighs less than eight stone and is so timid." Winifred told how the raid has left her with nightmares. She said: "It was terrifying." The raiders broke into Win's home in Liverpool and threatened her, John and son Vincent, 53 - later killed in a car crash. John Lloyd, 22, got eight years for armed robbery. Accomplice Neil Breslin, 21, was jailed for nine.
