Man parades with sister's head

A truck driver beheaded his elder sister over a pending land dispute and paraded with the severed head in their village near Bannerghatta on Monday.

The assailant, Syed Hyder Ali Saab (53), was smoking a beedi at the 'panchayat katte' with the severed head and blood-stained chopper lying beside him when the police arrived, nearly half-an-hour after the incident.

Syed surrendered to the police. The gruesome murder of Noorjaan (60), a mother of three children, sent shockwaves through the sleepy village of Bingipura with locals horrified at seeing the bloodied assailant walking in front of their homes.

Around 7 am on Monday, Syed walked into a eucalyptus grove, the disputed land, with a chopper to collect firewood. Noorjan landed at the place and objected to it.
